Project overview

NewEdge Wealth is a modern wealth management firm focused on serving ultra-high-net-worth clients. Our team was brought in to redesign their digital experience, including a secure client portal and a feature-rich advisor dashboard. The goal was to create a cohesive, intuitive interface that enhances transparency, improves user engagement, and simplifies portfolio oversight.

Key goals included:

  • Designing a responsive, mobile-friendly client portal for secure document access, performance tracking, and communication.
  • Building a robust advisor dashboard with real-time portfolio analytics, client activity feeds, and task tracking.
  • Streamlining user flows for account management, document sharing, and investment performance reporting.

How did the project start?

The project began with a comprehensive discovery phase, including stakeholder interviews with financial advisors, operations teams, and compliance leads. NewEdge sought to move away from legacy systems that created fragmented user experiences. Their vision was a clean, modern interface that could serve the dual needs of clients seeking simplicity and advisors requiring depth and functionality.

Our role was to audit their existing tools, identify gaps, and craft a scalable design system that would support growth while aligning with their brand.

Project execution

We mapped out the user journeys for both clients and advisors, focusing on the most frequent touchpoints: portfolio performance, document uploads, meeting notes, and client communications. Using Figma, we developed high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes, validating features through user feedback loops.

Highlights of the execution phase included:

  • A dashboard-first layout for both user types, showing relevant KPIs at a glance.
  • Modular card components for customizable insights per user role.
  • Embedded secure messaging and document management within the client portal.
  • Integration design points for Salesforce, Orion, and third-party custodians.
  • A dark mode for advisor desktops during long trading hours.

The final product helped NewEdge improve internal efficiency and significantly elevated their client-facing digital experience.
